1. Coron Island

Coron Island is a first-class municipality in the province of Palawan, Philippines. Impressively, Coron is one of the top tourist destinations in the Philippines and is best known for offering World War II-era wreck diving. In fact, there are 12 sunken wartime ships at the bottom of the ocean. Essentially, it was the result of an attack on the Imperial Japanese Navy by US Navy aircraft during the Second World War in September 1944. Additionally, you can go for an advanced dive or shallow snorkel. You can dive in Coron all year round, but the best conditions occur during the dry season from December to April.

Kayangan Lake is by far the most popular spot on Coron Island and for a good reason. It’s a crystal-clear freshwater lake with unbelievable underwater rock formations. To reach Kayangan Lake you should stay in Coron Town. From Coron Town, you’d have to hop on a boat to reach the lake. Perhaps consider booking an island hopper tour. The tour takes you along all the islands and stunning beaches of Coron. How could you possibly regret being steered around a stunning island on a luxurious boat?

2. El Nido

Enjoy the island of El Nido in Palawan, Philippines

El Nido is known for white-sand beaches, coral reefs and as the gateway to the Bacuit archipelago: a group of islands with steep karst cliffs. However, the island is also filled with clear turquoise lagoons that are surrounded by limestone walls. These lagoons are safe for swimming, kayaking, or snorkelling around. Also, El Nido is a perfect viewpoint for the breathtaking views of the surroundings.

Moving on to beaches, Nat Nat Beach, Pasandigan Beach, Paradise Beach and Serenity Beach are some of the best beaches you can visit in El Nido. Just imagine, listening to the waves, watching the sea view, or tasting the seafood barbecue on the roadside. It really doesn’t get better than that. The main way to explore El Nido is to go island hopping and visit the towering limestone islands scattered in the sea. It’s movie-like if I’m being honest.

3. Snake Island

Snake Island is a great place for swimming, snorkelling, or simply lounging around in the sun.

Snake Island is a tranquil island with white-sand beaches and is best known for its winding sandbar visible only at low tide. Ideally, you’ll want to visit during low tide, where you can walk along the sandbar from one side of the island to the other. Interestingly, the island’s name was unofficially altered by the inhabitants to what it is now due to its unusual snake-like shape. Plus, the S-shaped sandbar, which is roughly three kilometres long, connects mainland Palawan to the islet. However, despite its name, there aren’t any snakes living on the island so don’t worry!

Once you arrive on Snake Island, you’ll be immediately enticed by the stunning scenery of this tropical island. Lastly, Snake Island is a great place for swimming, snorkelling, or simply lounging around in the sun.
