Avontuur Nature Reserve
Avontuur Nature Reserve boasts many spectacular endemic species in a beautiful African landscape. The reserve hides many treasures for those willing to take the time to explore its secrets. Three hiking trails lead visitors into the Fynbos, Tillite Renosterveld and Dolerite Renosterveld ecosystems. This reserve is located on the Grasberg District Road, towards Loeriesfontein.
A map will be provided with your permit when you visit the reserve. Additionally, there are free guided tours which depart from the Avontuur Office to permit holders every Saturday at 14:00 in the spring flower season. A permit costs R100 per person and could be obtained at the Nieuwoudtville Publicity Association.
