Our Starting Point – Hågå Rundløype in Vevang

We will start our hike at a beautiful coastal path named Hågå Rundløype. This exquisite location is made up of white columnar sculpture pieces that are scattered along the Atlantic Ocean. Hågå Rundløype is such a picturesque destination, perfect for walking meditation.

If you are new to walking meditation, allow me to be your guide. Start by finding a good spot that allows you to walk back and forth. Make sure there is another space for approximately 15 paces. Next, take 15 steps along your spot and then stop and breathe for a moment. Thereafter, face the opposite direction, take another 15 steps and then stop to breathe for another moment.

Repeat these two steps for up to 15 minutes and that’s it! Not so difficult, now, was it? The only difficulty you might encounter is keeping your brain focused on nothing but your present sensations and surroundings. But do not panic if your mind starts to wander, it’s natural. Just take a deep breath and refocus your mind again. Try using the sculptures at Hågå Rundløype to anchor your focus. Walking meditation has many wellness benefits for you. These benefits include reduced stress and anxiety, improved digestion, and enhanced creativity.

You should feel your overall well-being start to improve by the end of that walking meditation. Great job so far. Now, let’s continue with our Atlantic Ocean Road hiking experience.
