The meaning of stargazing is to stare absentmindedly at the star constellations above; to daydream at night. Stargazing is a wellness activity that can be done almost anywhere at night, provided that there is enough darkness around to illuminate the night sky.
The concept of stargazing, losing yourself in a universe so big, became a nighttime activity in ancient Babylonia, Mesopotamia around 100 BCE.
Ever since it has grown in popularity and is today practised as a wellness activity sometimes incorporated with silent meditation to relax and let go of what can not be controlled. Stargazing is an extraordinary way of putting situations in perspective, realising the endlessness of the universe and how small situations that feel enormous to us actually are.
