Gosh, what’s not to do on Bozcaada Island? You can see so many incredible things here that you’ll be busy the entire time. First to see is the iconic Bozcaada Castle, a landmark that, in a sense, defines the island. Its preservation is something to behold, and walking between the ancient structure’s walls will give you a glimpse into the island’s rich history. Interestingly, it also offers incredible views over the town and the surrounding waters.

You can also visit the old town of Bozcaada, which is filled with cobblestone streets, whitewashed houses, and colourful flowers to make the town’s vibrancy even more. There are two central districts: the Turkish and Greek quarters. Wandering around these places will ultimately reveal a combination of traditional Turkish and Greek architecture.

The beaches on Bozcaada Island are unmatched, and Ayazma Beach is the most popular. It’s known for its crystal-clear waters and soft, golden sands. It stretches along an expansive coastline, offering everyone who visits ample space for an excellent beach-day setup. The water is typically calm as well, perfect for leisurely floating. Other beaches include Suluklu Beach and Habbele Beach, which are equally as beautiful as Ayazma Beach.

Hi there! I’m Megan, an absolute lover of words, literature, books, stories, anything that has to do with writing, reading, imagining. Because of my passion, I decided to make writing my life, and with that, I decided to study BA Languages at the University of Pretoria and am happy to report that I made my dream come true by graduating and becoming a travel writer. During my final year I wrote for my campus newspaper, the PDBY, where I learned to trust my writing voice. Now, as I sit here writing my petit little bio, I feel more in love with writing than I’ve ever been. Turns out, like much of my personality, my writing can equally showcase both the calm and put-together, as well as the crazy.
