1. Mahé

Mahé Island: Seychelles' best island. Also the most populated area in the country. Home to Seychelle's only international airport.

Mahé, Seychelles’ largest island, is also its most populated and developed. But, when I say large, I don’t mean you can get lost for days. In fact, Mahé can be fully explored within a 2.5-hour drive. Do note that Seychelles’ only international airport is located here, and so is 90% of its population. Prepare to get a glimpse of pure tropical paradise.

The breathtaking Morne Seychellois National Park is a must-see in this Mahé. On top of that, lovely beaches border the island with granite. Why not discover the towering peaks that take you down pristine hidden bays in this emerald forest? With so many hiking and meditation spots, Mahé is undoubtedly the best island in Seychelles. Care for a fly fishing tour while in Mahe? The Luxury Travel company allows you to do just that! Visit their website for details on fly fishing tours and more.

2. Praslin

Praslin: Seychelles' 2nd-best island. Home to some of the ountry's best beaches like Cote D'Or, Anse Georgette, and Anse Lazio.

The coco de mer palm, which is only grown in Seychelles, yields the biggest seed in the entire globe. For this reason, Praslin Island is the perfect place to see this marvel. However, if that doesn’t excite you, other facts will.

For starters, this is the second-largest and second-most populous island in Seychelles. Surprisingly, it’s still quieter than Mahe. Praslin is an unspoiled, laid-back island, which is close to La Digue. It is another true paradise with a tonne of top-notch resorts, beach hotels, and 5-star all-inclusive honeymoon suites.

With so many activities available, this is undoubtedly one of Seychelles’ top islands for family vacations. Moreover, Praslin gives you access to some of Seychelles’ most beautiful beaches. Cote D’Or, Anse Georgette, and Anse Lazio are just some of the must-see ones.

3. Silhouette Island

Silhouette Island: the 3rd-best island in Seychelles. A lovely destination for trekking, diving and animal viewing.

We find Silhouette Island on the horizon of Mahé’s renowned Beau Vallon Beach. This extraordinary island is protected by the Nature Preservation Trust. Therefore, it remains largely unspoiled. Furthermore, Mount Dauban dominates the island and covers it with mist forests.

Only the tiny settlement of La Passe and the Hilton Resort indicate human existence on the island. Nevertheless, a protected coral reef surrounds Silhouette’s gorgeous beaches. Furthermore, a primal beauty covers the island’s interior. This makes Silhouette a lovely island for trekking, diving and animal viewing.

Roughly 200 people live on this stunning paradise island. What a peaceful place to meditate! Certainly, Silhouette is the best wild and uninhabited island in Seychelles.

4. La Digne

La Digne: Seychelles' 4th-best island. An undeveloped paradise that is laid back with a leisurely pace of life.

La Digue is particularly unique and hard to find anywhere else. It’s an undeveloped paradise that is laid back with a leisurely pace of life. La Digue has avoided the development that has occurred on some of the other islands. As a result, there are almost no cars and only a few surfaced roads. Doesn’t that give you the impression that you are returning to nature?

Although you can reach the island on foot in an hour, transportation by bicycle or oxcart is preferable. Iconic structures provide historical context for the island, while isolated beaches are incredibly pristine. Large granite rocks conceal beautiful secret bays at La Digne. As a result, it’s fairly easy to find yourself off the usual path as you stroll back to your resort in the island’s centre. As you explore La Digue, look out for the black paradise flycatcher. One of the rarest birds on the planet.

5. St. Pierre Island

St. Pierre Island: the 5th-best island in Seychelles. The best location in Seychelles for scuba diving and snorkelling.

Near the island of Praslin, we find St. Pierre. From its centre, threads of coconut trees extend forth. Due to its modest size, St. Pierre Island is typically visited for island-hopping adventures.

Magnificent coral reefs and crystal-clear turquoise water surround the island’s coastlines. As a result, St. Pierre is among the best in Seychelles for scuba diving and snorkelling. Despite the dead coral, there are numerous fish and sea turtles to be seen. Why not continue your fishing adventure here? Just note that St. Pierre is so small that there is not much space to walk around. In fact, it is only accessible by boat.

In all honesty, this island stole my heart and I consider it the most gorgeous and perfect island I’ve ever seen.
